Oh HI! I’m Kate Vaughan, a 26 year old Engineer currently living in Far North Queensland. I love all things fitness, nutrition and puns! If I could swim, bike, run plus eat fresh delicious food and say puns all day, I’d be laughing… literally.

In the last few years I have gone from strength to strength in owning this work-life balance thing, working full-time as an engineer, swim coaching, training, adventuring and family time (minus munchkins.. for now). My training has seen me compete in Half Ironmans, Open Water Swims as well as strength training at the gym, netball and squash.  I thought I was in the fitness prime of my life until a very sick year and in October (2015) I was diagnosed of Crohn’s Disease. Unfortunately in January 2016 I required major bowel surgery. I am currently on the road to recovery from the surgery and all the baggage that comes with the disease. It has been a rough ride but I am devoted and determined to be the fittest, healthiest and happiest version of myself and I can’t wait to share my journey and experiences with you.

My goal of fitnessandguts is to Motivate, Educate EduKate and Entertain you in regard to fitness, training, nutrition, recipes, Crohn’s Disease, parodies, puns and jokes!
